Privacy notice
Last updated: 17 October 2026
This notice explains how Oriel (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you visit orielwebdesign.com, contact us, or receive a business email from us.
Who we are
Oriel is a web design studio based in London, UK. We are responsible (the “controller”) for the personal information described here. Contact us at [email protected] or on +44 7487 579769.
What we collect
- Enquiries: when you email or call us (including messages prepared with our website form), we receive the details you choose to share, such as your name, business name, email, phone number, type of business and your message.
- Business contact details: to tell businesses about our services, we may use business contact details that are publicly available, for example on a business listing or directory page: the business name, a business email address or phone number, the type of business and its general area.
- Clients: if you become a client, we also keep the content you send for your website, plus invoices and payment records.
- Website: our website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and font provider (Google Fonts) process technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site securely.
How and why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and provide our services, because you asked us to or we have a contract with you.
- To contact businesses about our web design services, based on our legitimate interest in promoting our business. We only send marketing emails where the law allows, we always say who we are, and every email lets you opt out.
- To keep business and accounting records, where the law requires us to.
Opting out
If you don’t want to hear from us, reply “no thanks” to any email or tell us by phone. We will stop contacting you and add your details to a short “do not contact” list, so we don’t contact you again by mistake.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell personal information. We use trusted providers to run our business, including Google (email) and Cloudflare (website hosting and domain). Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, with appropriate safeguards in place.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to 2 years after our last contact, and client and accounting records for up to 6 years. Business contact details used for outreach are deleted within 12 months if there’s no ongoing conversation. Do-not-contact entries are kept for as long as needed to respect your request.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict its use. You can object to direct marketing at any time. To make a request, email [email protected].
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
